Representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington State met with Dr. Monica Brown, President of South Seattle College, Dean Ferdinand Orbino, and Program Director Joydeep Hazra to discuss opportunities for cooperation in practical and career-focused education.
The meeting focused on bringing South Seattle College’s strong experience in hands-on education, which serves more than 10,000 students annually, closer to educational institutions in Uzbekistan.
The parties explored opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint education and professional training programs, as well as applied research and development initiatives.
Particular attention was given to potential partnerships in such promising areas as advanced manufacturing, aviation, electric vehicles, and emerging technologies.
Both sides emphasized the importance of equipping young people with practical skills that meet the needs of tomorrow’s economy, transforming knowledge into innovation and new opportunities, and preparing students for meaningful and competitive careers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in building and developing practical cooperation between South Seattle College and educational institutions in Uzbekistan.
