🌎 Consular Jurisdiction

The Consulate General provides consular services to citizens residing in the following U.S. states:

  • Washington
  • Oregon
  • Idaho
  • Montana

Citizens residing outside the above-mentioned states are kindly requested to contact either the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C. or the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York.


👤 Eligible Applicants

The following categories of citizens may apply for a biometric passport for international travel:

  • Citizens permanently registered in Uzbekistan who are temporarily residing abroad and registered with the Consular Section under temporary consular registration;
  • Citizens who officially departed Uzbekistan for permanent residence abroad and are registered under permanent consular registration.

ℹ️ Important Information

  • ✅ Applicants must appear in person at the Consular Section to apply for a passport.
  • ✅ Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • ✅ Before submitting documents, applicants must complete the electronic application form via the Electronic Application System.
  • ✅ After verification of documents, the date and time of the consular appointment will be scheduled.
  • ✅ The processing time for a new passport is approximately 1.5–2 months.

📑 Required Documents

For Adult Applicants

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Electronic application form;
  • Original and copy of the current or previous passport;
  • Proof of consular registration;
  • One color photograph (35×45 mm);
  • Documents confirming lawful residence in the United States, including:
    • Green Card;
    • Visa;
    • I-20;
    • Work Permit;
    • Employment Letter, etc.;
  • Money Order or bank check for consular fees;
  • Military registration documents, if applicable, for applicants aged 18–27.

For Minors

Additional documents for children include:

  • Birth certificate;
  • Parents’ passports;
  • Parental consent statement;
  • Apostilled or legalized birth certificate for children born in the U.S. or Canada;
  • Accompanying person’s notarized statement, if required.

🛂 In Case of Lost Passport

If the passport has been lost, applicants must provide:

  • Police report issued by local authorities;
  • Official loss statement issued by U.S. or Canadian authorities;
  • Additional identification documents, if requested.

📝 Changes in Biographical Information

If the applicant has changed their:

  • Surname;
  • First name;
  • Date of birth;
  • Marital status;

The following supporting documents must be submitted:

  • Marriage or divorce certificate;
  • Apostilled or legalized documents;
  • Court decisions, if applicable.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • The 2011 biometric “green passport” and OVIR exit sticker are no longer issued by diplomatic missions abroad.
  • Only the biometric international passport, dark red passport, is issued by the Consular Section.
  • ID cards and driver’s licenses are not issued at consular offices abroad.
  • Additional penalties may apply for delayed passport renewal after expiration.
