Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Washington

The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Washington provides consular services to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It also provides visa services for U.S. citizens and citizens of other foreign countries.

The Consulate General provides services to residents of the following U.S. states:

 

    • Washington
    • Oregon
    • Idaho
    • Montana

 

Citizens residing outside these states are kindly requested to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C., or the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York.

 


 

Temporary Consular Registration

 

Who may apply for temporary consular registration?

The following categories of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and stateless persons may be registered for temporary consular registration:

✅ Study

✅ Employment

✅ Official business trip

✅ Medical treatment

✅ Family reunification

This applies to individuals who are legally staying in the United States for more than 6 months.

 


 

Who is not eligible for temporary consular registration?

The following individuals are not eligible for temporary consular registration:

❌ Persons staying in the United States for less than 6 months;

❌ Persons visiting for tourism, private matters, or other short-term purposes;

❌ Transit passengers;

❌ Holders of expired biometric or non-biometric passports.

If necessary, such individuals may apply for a Certificate of Return to Uzbekistan.

 


 

Validity Period

Temporary consular registration may be issued for a period of up to 4 years.

The validity period is determined based on the purpose of stay:

 

    • duration of official business trip;
    • duration of study;
    • duration of employment contract;
    • duration of medical treatment;
    • family reunification — up to 4 years.

 

 


 

Consular Fee

🟢 Temporary consular registration is provided free of charge.

 


 

Application Methods

Applicants may apply using one of the following methods.

 


 

In-Person Application

Applicants must make an appointment in advance before visiting the Consulate General.

 

Required Documents

 

    • Barcode electronic application form completed at consulate.mfa.uz
    • Passport — original and copy
    • Proof of legal residence in the United States, such as Green Card, Resident Card, or similar document
    • Documents confirming the purpose of stay, including:
        • I-20 or F-1 documents for students
        • Employment contract
        • Official assignment order for business trips
        • Medical documents
        • Marriage certificate, if applicable

 

For minors, a birth certificate and copies of the passport are also required.

Extension of Temporary Consular Registration

If the period of stay in the United States is extended, the applicant must apply for an extension at least one month before the expiration of the current temporary consular registration.

 


 

Deregistration from Consular Registration

Deregistration may be required in the following cases:

 

    • relocation to another consular district;
    • expiration of temporary stay abroad;
    • loss or renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
    • death.

 

Deregistration may be completed:

 

    • in person;
    • by mail;
    • or through an online request.

    • last name or first name.
