Representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Washington held a productive meeting with Suellen Tomlinson, Mitul Modi, and Liz Bickley of Korn Ferry.
The discussion focused on creating a structured pathway to prepare and certify qualified nurses from Uzbekistan and connect them with potential healthcare employers in the United States.
It was emphasized that the initiative should maintain high professional standards, develop candidates’ knowledge and skills in accordance with U.S. requirements, ensure ethical recruitment practices, and protect the labor rights and interests of participating workers.
Korn Ferry representatives expressed strong interest in the initiative. The parties agreed to continue working together to:

- assess the specific workforce needs of U.S. healthcare employers;
- define professional qualification, language, and training requirements for candidates;
- examine appropriate training and certification mechanisms; and
- evaluate the possibility of launching an initial pilot program.
Subject to the successful implementation of the pilot program, the possibility of gradually expanding the initiative will also be considered.
This promising cooperation could create new professional opportunities for qualified Uzbek nurses while helping address workforce needs in the U.S. healthcare sector.
