At the initiative of Uzbek compatriots residing in Seattle and the surrounding areas, the “Uzbek Mahalla” Community Association has been established in the State of Washington.
The Association was officially registered in accordance with Washington State requirements. The legal recognition of this initiative through the Office of Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs marks an important milestone in the life and development of the Uzbek community in the Seattle area.
Today, more than 3,000 people of Uzbek origin reside in the State of Washington. Many of them work for leading technology and multinational companies based in Seattle and the surrounding region, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Boeing, Oracle, and NVIDIA.
Members of the Uzbek community have built successful careers in software development, artificial intelligence, engineering, aviation, medicine, entrepreneurship, and other important fields, contributing to the economic and social development of the state.
Muso Kholmurodov was appointed Chair of the “Uzbek Mahalla” Community Association. He has 15 years of experience in the U.S. public administration system and currently serves in a management position at the Washington State Department of Corrections.
The newly established Association has identified the following key objectives:

- bringing together Uzbek compatriots residing in Washington State;
- organizing national celebrations and cultural and educational events;
- assisting Uzbek citizens who have recently arrived in the United States with their social integration;
- promoting the Uzbek language, national culture, and traditions among younger generations; and
- strengthening solidarity and mutual support within the community.
The establishment of “Uzbek Mahalla” represents an important step toward the institutional development of the Uzbek community in Washington State, stronger connections among compatriots, and the preservation of Uzbekistan’s national heritage for future generations.
